Cultural Diversity

South East Community Links has a 50-year history working in partnership local communities across the south east of Melbourne, providing services and programs that have and continue to provide valuable support to individuals and families across this community.

In this time, people from over 170 different cultural backgrounds have settled in the region and today the City of Greater Dandenong our principal place is the most culturally diverse local government area in Australia with approximately 70% of residents speaking a language other than English at home.

Our development as an organisation undertaken through partnerships with local communities has ensured that every service and program offered by South East Community Links is available and responsive to all members of our community regardless if you were born here, arrived 30 years ago or moved in just last week.

In addition, South East Community Links provides a wide range of services and programs that have been designed specifically to assist people through the process of settling in a new country and connecting to the wide range of services that can support you and your family through this process.

In addition, our community development programs has active partnerships with many multicultural groups and organisations across the south east of Melbourne that provide invaluable services, social and cultural activities. We can assist your organisation to find resources supporting the programs that are important to your community and help build the capacity of your organisation to build on and expand the range of services and programs that you are currently providing.
